The city of Rome is served by two airports, the main one being the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino (FCO), and the smaller second airport being the Giovan Battista Pastine International Airport in Ciampino (CIA).
Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino (FCO)
Situated about 40 km from the city center, it is connected to Rome by both train and bus.
By train
We suggest to take the Non-stop Leonardo express train to and from Termini station (connecting with the Metro – lines A e B); it leaves every 30 minutes, and takes 31 minutes to get to Termini station. One way ticket costs 14 euro per person and can be purchased at the airport train station (ticket offices or self-service machines), at authorized points of sale (coffee bars, tobacconists, newspaper kiosks, etc.) or online. For further information, you can check here
By bus
We suggest to take the Terravision Shuttle Bus, that serves the route between the FCO airport and Termini station. It leaves about every 30 minutes (less frequent at night) from Terminal 3, bus stop n° 3. One-way ticket is 4.0 euros (web price) or 6.0 euros (ticket office at the airport). More details
By taxi
Taxis to Rome are found at the exit of both the domestic and international arrival terminals. From Fiumicino Airport to the center of Rome, the journey takes between 40–50 minutes. The price is 45–70 euros, according to the distance travelled.
Giovan Battista Pastine International Airport in Ciampino (CIA)
Situated about 20 km from the city center, it is the second airport of Rome, where low-cost flights use to arrive. It is connected to Rome by both metro and bus.
By metro
Special buses (ATRAL/COTRAL service) connect the CIA Airport to Anagnina Metro Station (Line A), with trains running to the city center. They leave from the square in front of the airport. More details
